Meinl's CH66HF is a great-sounding set of Bar Chimes with 66 gold-coloured chimes made of anodised aluminium, divided into two rows of 33 chimes. When played with the included beater, these chimes - which are attached to the wooden bar - will produce a wondrous, high-pitched tone. This makes the Meinl CH66HF Bar Chimes perfect for bands, orchestras and individual musicians alike.

Musical effect

As mentioned before, the 66 gold-coloured chimes are suspended from a single bar with highly durable nylon cords. In turn, the included holder will hold up the bar, which is balanced perfectly to create the best possible musical effect.

Mark Tree

If you're thinking that this instrument is actually called a Mark Tree, then you're right - that is indeed another common name for this instrument. That name comes from the man who created the bar chimes: Mark Stevens. This studio percussionist developed the instrument back in 1967, but he couldn't think of a name for it. That's when his colleague Emil Richards thought of the name Mark Tree.

Ik drum nu 34 jaar en heb nu een aantal jaar mijn droom drumstel bestaande uit 21 stuks slagwerk, 46 bekkens, wat eigen gemaakte klank instrumenten en een chime 12 bas van Meinl. Dat oogde wat mager en toen kwam ik de Meinl CH66HF Bar Chimes met 66 goudkleurige staafjes tegen op de site van Baxshop. Naast een mooie korting, is dit prachtige klankorgel aan buisjes een echte eyecatcher en een super aanwinst voor mijn drumstel. Het is dat je maar 5 sterren kan geven, want naar mijn mening verdiend dit mooi klinkende en degelijke instrument 10 sterren. Een echte aanrader als je iets zoekt om je drumstel een mooie upgrade te geven. Oftewel, aanschaffen dit mooie instrument en daarmee sluit ik me aan bij de 1e review!! :)

Klinkt te gek deze barchimes met dubbele staafjes van Meinl. Ik had er een houder bij besteld maar was achteraf niet nodig daar deze al bij de chimes zat. Ik heb er in het verleden ook een gehad van LP die klonk ook echt te gek, maar dat is appels met peren vergelijken. Kortom aanschaffen dit ding!
