General
This cajon is suitable for percussionists of all ages! Thanks to its birch-wood body, it produces a warm, full, deep tone and offers a wide sound projection. As far as the finish is concerned, we're talking top-notch. Sela controls the quality of each cajon to the highest degree during the production process, and doesn't allow a single instrument to leave the factory without being thoroughly tested first. For extra durability, the rounded edges and corners have been reinforced with maple. Not only does this add a gorgeous finishing touch, it also enhances playability.
Sela SE 078 CaSela Vintage Blue cajon
A handy feature of the CaSela cajon is the Sela Snare System which enables you to remove the single snare from the inside if you want a more traditional Peruvian sound. You can also add an extra snare for a more modern Flamenco-style sound. If one extra snare isn't enough, you can add another one. The extra snares are sold separately.
The veneer front plate of this 078 CaSela cajon has a Vintage Blue finish and is adorned with the specs of this versatile instrument in funky letters. As it says on the front plate, this cajon has a Thin Splash front plate, which means it's a snare cajon. It also mentions Clap Corners, which are special corners for adding attack and definition to your playing.
Should you ever want a different front plate, you can easily replace this one with another one for CaSela. Sela even offers custom-made front plates so you can really make your cajon your own!
