Mapex has an impressive list of drummers with signature models already, and this time, they got Matt Halpern (Periphery) to sign his name on the Black Panther Wraith snare drum. The 14 x 6-inch shell is made of 1.2mm-thick brass and offers a dry, sharp sound that allows for both whispering ghost notes and a powerful backbeat. Furthermore, the Wraith is fitted with 9 air holes that make the sound even drier. All in all, this snare drum is more than capable of handling Matt Halpern's technical playing style!

Sonic Saver Hoops

The Wraith is equipped with special Sonic Saver hoops, with a unique profile that enhances the response and feel of every rimshot, while also extending the lifespan of your drumsticks. The 45-degree bearing edges allow for an optimal transferral of the vibrations from the drumhead to the shell. It also comes with a cylinder-drive Black Panther strainer to keep the tension on the snare wires consistent. Finally, it has a Stealth Black finish and it comes with Evans Level 360 drumheads, which were selected by Matt Halpern himself.
