Ludwig have turned 110 this year and to celebrate, a limited production of the Heirloom Black Brass Snare drum is now available. A very special series, endowed with unique features and impeccable Ludwig response and sound. This 14 inch snare has a 5.5 inch depth.

The Ludwig Heirloom Black Brass Snare Drum

The brushed black brass shell shapes the dark sound of this snare while the die-cast tension hoop maintains a controlled tone with defined attack. Ludwig have gifted this celebratory snare with a P88 snare strainer and P35 butt-end. Especially for this Heirloom, a 110th anniversary badge has been designed and mounted on the side and a matching commemorative bag is included.

Incredibly, it’s been exactly 110 years since the German-American brothers William F. and Theobald Ludwig opened their first drum store, bearing the name ‘Ludwig & Ludwig’. The brothers started making bass drum pedals and soon expanded their production to include snare drums, kettle drums and every other flavour of drums and the rest is history, as they say. To celebrate their 110th birthday, Ludwig release the 110th Anniversary Heirloom Black Brass snare drum. It’s available in two sizes and we have both in stock, right now!
