The Mesa Boogie Subway D-800 bass guitar amplifier squeezes 800 Watts of powerful 'bottom-end' out of a cabinet that fits into the storage compartment of a guitar case. This minute Class D amplifier head is a remarkable, intelligently-arranged, professional bass amp. Not only suitable for home rehearsals or small clubs, but also for large venues, thanks to an integrated balanced DI with switchable pre-post EQ, line or microphone level and ground lift switch.

Mesa Boogie Subway D-800 with Extra Bottom

At home, the headphone input is incredibly useful, along with the aux-input to connect an MP3 player or drum machine for silent practice. Gain, bass, hi-mid, tre-mid and treble controls provide the basic tone which can be shaped further using the variable voicing button. If you want your sound to plunge even deeper, the Subway D-800 has a switch to load on even more bottom-end with sub-layer characteristics. For more headroom, the bass guitar type can be selected with the active/passive switch.

With the Subway D-800, Mesa Boogie have actually outdone themselves. This is the first ultra-lightweight bass guitar amp from the master builders of Petaluma, California and stems from a long tradition. The electronics are partly derived from the Bass 400+ found in the Bass Strategy 8:88. The tightly focused midrange comes straight out of the mosfet-powered Big Block 750 and M9 Carbine. The result is an entirely unique, gigantic sound.
