General
Thanks to its two ECC83 preamp tubes, the lunchbox-size ENGL Ironbass amp head offers a warm, rich sound. Its sound leaves the power amp through a D-class circuit, resulting in a whopping 800 watts of power at 4 ohms, and 500 watts at 8 ohms.
ENGL Ironbass: plenty of personality
The Ironbass may be small, but it has plenty of power and personality, just like its guitar amp cousin, the ENGL Ironball. Its looks tell you that it was designed with heavier music in mind, and it's absolutely great for that purpose. However, due to the many ways in which the Ironbass allows you to tweak your sound, it's versatile enough to be suitable for many different genres.
5-band tone control and more
There's a 5-band tone control for shaping your sound, with two push buttons that add extra treble or extra low end, respectively. By pressing the Ultra Bright button, the Ironbass delivers a remarkably funky sound, while with the Drive button, your sound will be deep, warm and low. Finally, there's a foot pedal connector for the Mute and Drive modes.
