For more than 40 years now, Tama have been producing Superstar kits. The Superstar Classic Series is a nostalgic nod to the originals and includes shells stamped with the timeless T-shaped logo and retro-formed lugs. While the exterior has all the look of a genuine Tama antique, these shells boast an uber-modern construction. Each has been fitted with chrome hardware and shaped using maple only to deliver hefty, muscular sound that can adapt itself to any playing style. This 5-piece shell set comes with a 10 x 16-inch kick drum, a 10 x 7-inch and 12 x 8-inch tom, a 14 x 14-inch floor tom, and a 14 x 5-inch snare, each finished with a Light Emerald Blue Green lacquer.
Optimised Maple Sound
Maple has been chosen for these shells simply because they deliver optimal and consistent sound and when layered, produce relatively thin shells. Here, they're supported by smaller Low-Mass lugs and the Star Mount mounting system that gives the toms enough room to resonate fully. The MTH600 tom mount also comes with ball joints for flexible and streamlined positioning and every shell is completed by Tama's very own Power Craft II drum heads.
