Drummers from around the world are familiar with Mapex's Saturn series of drum kits, and by launching the Saturn V series, Mapex shows that they've listened to their feedback. Most importantly, Mapex has heard their desire for SONIClear bearing edges - because why should those fantastic edges stay confined to the Mars and Armory kits?

Now that the hybrid Saturn V drum kit also has these fancy bearing edges, both its sound and its tuning range have been greatly improved due to the fact that the drumhead makes better contact with the shell.

The shell set features black hardware and consists of a 22 x 18" bass drum, 10 x 8" and 12 x 9" toms, and 14 x 14" and 16 x 16" floor toms in Deep Water Maple Burl. The 6-ply tom shells and the 8-ply bass drum shell are made of maple and walnut, a combination that ensures a bright sound with a nice balance of mids and lows.

Toms

Besides the SONIClear bearing edges, the Mapex MXSV628B-MSL Saturn V MH Exotic also features the SONIClear Tom Suspension system. As this system ensures minimal contact with the shells, the toms can resonate freely and the resulting vibrations largely stay confined within the shells and drumheads themselves. This kit also comes with two TH800 tom holders. The bass drum is fitted with isolating claw hooks that have a rubber lining, reducing the chance of them damaging the hoops or coming loose and rattling as you play.
