Drum kit legend Tama and Roland have joined forces to create the Tama Cocktail-JAM Hybrid Kit. Or rather, the limited edition! This kit is exactly the same as the previous model, but only available for a limited time.
Traditionally, when we speak of a 'hybrid kit', we mean it's a drum kit that's been constructed out of two types of wood. In this case, however, the term refers to a new trend in the world of percussion - the combination of acoustic and electronic sound by using digital drum modules and triggers. This special set, consisting of a Tama Cocktail-JAM Kit and Roland's TM-2 drum module, will inspire any drummer to discover new musical and rhythmic horizons.
What does this gorgeous set entail?
First off, the complete Cocktail-JAM Kit, a.k.a the Tama VK46CBC, with an exclusive, beautiful Midnight Gold Sparkle finish. The shells are made from birch, which creates a very clear sound. In this configuration, you'll find a 16 x 6-inch bass drum, a 15 x 5.5-inch floor tom, a 10 x 5-inch tom and a 12 x 5-inch snare drum. A bass drum pedal and a holder for a (closed) hi-hat are also included with this kit, as well as an attachment for a crash-ride cymbal, for instance.
TM-2 module
The electronic sounds are produced by the Roland TM-2 module that's equipped with no fewer than 99 different drum kits! You'll find 50 presets and 5 extra presets for this particular Cocktail-JAM Hybrid Kit, and 162 internal instruments in total. Connect the included RT-10S and RT-101 triggers with the included cables, mount the TM-2 on the MC62 multi-clamp, put on your headphones, and enjoy the comprehensive library of sounds this Hybrid Kit has to offer!
