With the Select Balance series, Promark has released a new kind of drumsticks. Since 2011, Promark has been part of D'Addario, and the latter has made some sizeable investments in order to optimise the manufacturing of ProMark drumsticks. These new sticks make your life as a drummer a little easier, by helping you choose the right stick to match your personal style and technique.

Promark Rebound Balance .550: teardrop tip

These Rebound Balance drumsticks are very similar to the industry standard 5A model, and are best suited for styles like jazz, fusion and latin. They have a 3-inch taper, which means they're slightly back-heavy, giving each stroke more rebound. Furthermore, these Select Balance .550 hickory drumsticks have a modified wooden teardrop tip, which is 15% smaller than before, and better suited to deal with various playing styles and techniques.

Information is key

The Select Balance drumsticks feature type numbers printed on the stick, which tells you all you need to know. PM, of course, stands for Promark, while FB or RB tell you whether it's a Forward Balance or a Rebound Balance stick. Furthermore, the H indicates that it's made of hickory while the numbers coincide with the stick's diameter. Finally, T and W refer to the shape and material of the tip - Teardrop and Wood, in this case.
