If you're into quirky vintage instruments, then we probably don't have to tell you the name of this curiously shaped bass guitar. It is, of course, the VOX Mark V Bass, or perhaps better known as the Phantom! This Salmon Red model features a slim short-scale neck for added playing comfort, and it also comes with a gig bag.
Phantom Bass Salmon Red: brighten up your bass playing
This comfortable guitar has been equipped with two classic VOX single-coil pickups, just like one would expect from a rugged vintage instrument. The pickups produce all of your characteristic single-coil sounds, and can be adjusted via three controls on the body. Specifically, you can use the two volume knobs to find the best balance between the darker bridge pickup and the brighter neck pickup, and there's a tone control for minimising the trebles.
VOX Teardrop and Phantom
The unique design of the VOX Teardrop and Phantom guitars dates back to the early sixties and still captures the imagination today. It's no wonder that second-hand models sold for high prices in the long period that VOX wasn't producing these electric guitars. However, lucky for you, some time ago they came out with the comparable Apache series, and not long after that VOX brought out the Mark III and the Mark V, due to popular demand.
