General

Squier released their 'own' first Jazz Bass back in 1982 and whether or not you were there when it happened, this special 40th Anniversary Vintage Edition reissue is a great pick if you're a traditional bassist on a budget. The contouring of the body matches the original while, supported by a special satin finish, the comfortable C-profile neck provides the familiar look and feel of a genuine J-bass. To guarantee classic tone, Squier have opted for two Fender-Designed Alnico Single-Coil pickups and three standard controls, plus a set of vintage-style tuners and a matching four-saddle bridge to keep the tuning in check. The engraved 40th Anniversary neck plate and the classy anodised aluminium pickguard are the prestigious cherries on top.

Super goede Bas uit Indonesië. Speelt prettig en voor het geld kun je dit instrument als beginner niet laten liggen. Mooi afgewerkt en vanuit de doos goed bespeelbaar.

Nu enkele weken in mijn bezit en ik geniet er dagelijks met volle teugen van. Ik ben enthousiast over elk aspect van deze basgitaar: kwaliteit van de bouw, het speelgemak, de 'look and feel' maar bovenal het geweldige geluid! Squier geeft je ongelooflijk veel waarde voor je geld met deze serie. Toegegeven: het kleurtje moet je aanstaan maar zowel als beginner als gevorderde heb je hier een hele fijne bas aan waar je nog lang plezier van zult hebben.
De satin afwerking en ronde vormen voelen zeer comfortabel. De maple hals die iets smaller is dan de Pbass geeft een fijn bereik, zeker als je niet heel lange vingers hebt. De toon is warm en rond en prima af te stellen met de 3 knoppen (2x volume en 1x toon). Het stemmechaniek voelt net als de rest zeer solide en van hoge kwaliteit. De jack ingang zit op de voorzijde dus ik heb een kabel met haakse aansluiting erbij gekocht, wel zo fijn. Het enige minpuntje dat ik kan verzinnen is dat de bas vrij zwaar is, voor staande gitaristen mogelijk iets om rekening mee te houden.
Voor als het nog niet duidelijk was: ik ben zeer tevreden met mijn aankoop en raad deze bas ten zeerste aan!
