For years, Peavey has been making a great name for itself with their affordable amplifiers. With the Peavey Grind Bass 6 NTB, they've added a playable, durable and above all good-looking 6-string bass guitar to their assortment. Judging by its attractive natural looks, you'd think this instrument will cost you an arm and a leg, but that's not the case. In fact, this Peavey Boutique bass is remarkably affordable, and offers excellent value for money.
Tight Warmth
Peavey's Grind Bass 6 NTB sounds just the way it looks: tight and warm. The 6-string bass owes its fantastic tone to its mahogany body and its predominantly mahogany neck. This medium-hard wood type isn't just easy on the eyes with its red-brown hue and delicate grain, it also boasts outstanding sound characteristics, including plenty of sustain and a warm tone with a generous low end. The bass guitar's neck-through-body design enhances stability and sustain. The mahogany neck's maple stringers, meanwhile, add a touch of clarity and definition to your core sound. Thanks to a string-through bridge with triple adjustable saddles, the strings really connect with the body, increasing sustain even more.
Passive Electronics
The Grind Bass 6 NTB's two humbuckers, which convert string vibrations into a signal, are supported by passive electronics. Each pickup has its own volume and tone controls, allowing for a good deal of variation and making the Peavey six-string bass flexible enough for a wide range of music styles. The humbuckers' magnetic field has been extended to ensure that the low B and high C strings are accurately registered, and their dual-coil technology effectively eliminates humming and noise.
