If you're hopelessly in love with Precision bass styling, but can't do without that flexible Jazz bass tone? Then Squier present the bass of your dreams in the form of the Paranormal Jazz Bass 54. This adventure in a 4-stringed package comes loaded with the electronics of the J-bass that was introduced in 1960, and framed by the classic body shaping of the P-bass that first dropped back in 1954. This isn't just reflected in the cut-down pickguard, but the vintage-style hardware and the fully tried-and-tested feel of the neck. And while it looks like Squier have miscounted and only provided two pots to play with, you actually have a pair of stacked, concentric pots, each of which offer volume and tone controls per pickup. The mounted Fender Designed Alnico single-coils, meanwhile, shape that rich and familiar Jazz-flavoured tone.
