General
The German craftspeople of Sandberg are more than capable of sculpting pristine hand-built basses, but here, apply artful and innovative ageing techniques to offer the deliciously aged form and killer-look of the California TT4 Masterpiece Aged.
The TT4: Adjustable Saddles and Delano JJ Pickups
The Sandberg team lack nothing in terms of building technique and the hardware used to finish the TT-Series is no exception. The bridge saddles can be adjusted in three directions so that, besides precise intonation and string height adjustments, the string distance can also be tweaked. Meanwhile, a set of two J-style, Delano-made single-coil pickups packing Alnico-5 magnets provide a warm, vintage tone, and a push-pull volume pot kicks the active tone controls in for a boost and cut in both the low and high end.
Six-Screw Neck for Awesome Stability
Besides the finish, the California TT4 is overflowing with stunning and thoughtful details. A zero-fret ensures as pure a note when the open strings are played as when they're fretted, the machine heads retain a solid vintage design that has been tested by decades of use on previous models, and unique string-trees for the A, D, and G string provide optimum nut tension. For the kind of tonal stability you would only expect from an instrument of this calibre, the maple neck has been secured with six screws.
