General
Megadeth's heavily distorted guitars and thundering rhythm section helped make them famous. In honour of this, Jackson has updated the Dave Ellefson USA Signature Concert Bass V in Satin Black. This 5-string version has been a welcome addition to the band's music, and now it's available for you too. It features an alder body and has a maple neck with an ebony fretboard that looks great and is topped off with the characteristic sloping headstock. Active EMG pickups ensure that the sound is bright and clear.
Booming bass
The Concert Bass V doesn't just produce a tight sound, it has a broad range too. This is thanks to two EMG active humbuckers and a number of controls. At the bridge is an EMG 40DC, while an EMG 40CS can be found in the neck position. Controls for volume, blend and an active three-band EQ with low, mid and high tone controls allow you to customise your sound. The Dave Ellefson USA signature model has a Jackson Hi-Mass bridge that, in combination with the slanted headstock, optimises the string tension so that the notes remain pure, even in lower tunings.
Lovely to hold
This 5-string bass is made to be played for as long as you want, over and over again. The compound radius offers superior playing comfort. Lower down, the radius is rounder and narrower and the higher up you go the broader and flatter the radius becomes. This means that playing anywhere on the neck is equally as comfortable and easy on your hand. The body has also been designed so that it fits yours as closely as possible for optimal playing comfort.
