Fender's Mustang bass is back! This '60s Mustang bass from Fender's Mexican-made Vintera series is a short-scale model that offers a genuine '60s sound, look and feel for an attractive price. It has a scale length of 30 inches and the bolt-on maple neck has a thin C profile and a 7.25-inch fretboard radius. The vintage-style '60s split single-coil Mustang bass pickup ensures an authentic sound comes out of your amplifier. With its shorter scale length, this bass guitar is also perfect for musicians who are more used to playing a guitar than a bass.

I wanted to try out a short scale bass, to allow me to have a different tone in my collection of basses. I had seen the Fe der Vintera series Mustangs in magazines, and online, and thought I'd browse the Web for a good deal.

I found Bax Music and they had the Bass I wanted in stock, at a fantastic price.

Ordering was really straightforward, and the delivery was fully tracked (its always fun watching the tracking progress as your purchase makes its way to your home).

The Bass was great straight out of the box. The sound was surprisingly full - there's a lot of output from the slimmed down split pickup. The tone is really punchy, with a slightly softer top end attack when played, compared to a 34" scale bass.

If you're looking for a short scale bass, the classic look of the Fender Vintera Mustang really is a fantastic option. Plus, Bax Music's customer service (great price, and quick, fully tracked deliver) is really superb.
