The left-handed Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass takes all of the regal pedigree and rich history, all of that revered J-bass playing feel, comfort, and tone and softly nudges it further than ever. The neck has retained the tried-tested-and-true comfort of a Slim C-profile, but comes with the extra stability of a 5-bolt construction, while the back has been treated to a fresh coat of 'Super Natural' satin gloss for an even faster, even smoother feel in the fret hand. Another deeply welcome upgrade is the extra-rounded fretboard edges - in fact, even the top corner of the neck-plate and heel have been rounded off for extra comfort as you reach the highest of the 20 narrow tall frets.

The American Professional II Jazz Bass: A Refined and Familiar Foundation

Fender have even tweaked and freshened up the alnico pickups of this pro-grade bass. So the pair of single-coils might look very familiar, but this is the next generation: the V-Mod II pickups. Full-fat bass and clean trebles are a given, but the renewed winding gives the sound of this Jazz Bass that all-important touch of refinement, and of course, each pick-up gets a dedicated volume control, and you can tweak the whole using the master tone pot. For classic looks alongside excellent sustain and tuning stability, the inclusion of a 4-Saddle HiMass Vintage bridge is yet another rich treat that can be used as a string-through-body or toploader as preferred, so you can attain the perfect, and most personalised sound and feel possible. This finishes a giant among basses and Fender's new, even higher level, professional-standard J-bass.

Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass 3-Tone Sunburst RW Electric Bass Guitar with Case

Deze basgitaar heb ik online besteld en laten afleveren bij de winkel in Amsterdam. Dat ging allemaal heel voorspoedig. De bas heb ik eerst in de winkel rustig kunnen bekijken en bespelen. Aangezien deze Jazz bas volledig voldeed (en nog steeds voldoet) aan mijn verwachtingen heb ik deze dan ook betaald en meegenomen.
De bas moet nog wel goed worden afgesteld (toch niet helemaal zuiver). Maar ik kon de bas nog eens langsbrengen voor een eerste gratis afstelbeurt. Op zich is de afstelling vanaf fabriek overigens al heel behoorlijk en bruikbaar. Wat met Fenders helaas vaak ook niet het geval is.
De bas wordt geleverd in een hele stevige koffer die ook nog wat opbergruimte bevat voor bijvoorbeeld een gitaarkabel en een draagband.
Verder vind ik de bas heel soepel spelen en klinkt deze ook heel veelzijdig; van warm en wollig tot een scherp 'knorretje'.

Dat ik nu 4 sterren i.p.v. 5 heb gegeven komt niet door de Jazz bas zelf maar door de service van Bax in de winkel. De gitaartechneut van de winkel bleek om 16:30u opeens te zijn lunchen?! Terwijl die waarschijnlijk binnen 5 minuten de kleine onzuiverheid had kunnen verhelpen. Nu moet ik daar nog een keer voor terugkomen. Ook gezellig natuurlijk ;)
