The BA580EQ-5ST/TBK by Crafter is a 5-string acoustic bass guitar with built-in pickup so you can play it unplugged or amped up. Notice the beautifully transparent top made of quilted maple. The extra string is usually a low B, so you can play in drop D tuning and lower without having to tune the guitar differently. This Crafter model has a cutaway body so you can easily reach all the way up to the 22nd fret and comes into its own at home, in the studio or on stage.

The quilted maple top isn't just nice to look at, it also contributes to the bright, clear sound this bass offers. In addition, the ash sides and back carefully help shape the sound into deep, balanced bass tones with tight mids and bright highs. Where other 5-string basses start to sound muddy, the BA580EQ remains sparkling with ample lows. The body has been finished with high-gloss lacquer and an elegant mother-of-pearl decorative ring around the oval sound hole. Gold-plated hardware serves as the finishing touch.
L.R. Baggs Piëzo Pickup and Internal Tuner
With the built-in Piëzo pickup by renowned brand, L.R. Baggs, this bass guitar can be played both acoustically and electrically. Connect it to a bass amp or directly to a PA or mixer during gigs. On the side of the body sits a preamp with a 3-band EQ and scoop function for the mid-range tones. There's an extra big volume knob and a phase button that lets you turn off the pickup's phase to prevent feedback on stage. Last but not least, the Crafter BA580EQ comes with an in-built, digital chromatic tuner.
The preamp works on a single, 9V battery and can easily last a year or two. Thanks to the well-placed battery compartment, replacing the battery can be done in no time regardless.
