With the arrival of the CX series, DAP Audio have set a new standard when it comes to amplifiers. The amplifiers out of this series are suited for mobile use, but on a fixed location they also come into their own. Musicians, DJs, pubs, discotheques and community centres can all enjoy these reliable units! Their reliability stems from the high-quality protection they enjoy. The first thing that stands out about this DAP Audio XC-900 is its robust housing. Something that isn't as striking, but is just as important, are its internal protections. The amplifier is equipped with protections against short-circuiting, overheating, overloading and DC overvoltage. It is also provided with a (fixed) clip limiter and a soft start. Via a reset button on the back, you can easily (with one press) stop the amplifier from processing too much power and subsequently dying. DAP have decided to equip these amplifiers with multiple output modes: stereo, parallel and bridged.

Amplification by DAP

The CX-900 can deliver a maximum output of 2x 400 watts (at 4 ohms). This is a fair amount, but if you want to enjoy more, you can choose to daisy chain multiple amplifiers (possibly also other models from the DAP CX series) so that you have an amplifier for each speaker that you are using. These amplifiers are not equipped with a filter. This CX-900 is cooled by a fan that changes gear if you alter the power settings - it automatically adjusts itself. When you are working in a warm space or in an environment with a varying temperature, this can really come in handy. The air stream through the CX-900 leads from the front to the back.

The connectors

You can connect the input via XLR. Besides the audio input, you will also find XLR connectors for daisy chaining so that multiple amplifiers can be connected to one another. The output is transferred via two SpeakOn connectors. These can be used to connect the amplifier to the speakers. The CX-900 requires a power supply of 230 V at 50 Hz.
