General
This DAP Audio CX-3000 is an impressive amplifier - ideal for clubs, pubs, community centres, etc. An ambitious DJ or musician might also enjoy it, if they need an awesome amount of sound! As there are no switches on the CX-3000, you need a crossover if you want to connect one to a subwoofer. If the subwoofer has a built-in limiter, you won't need it, however.
DAP Audio CX-3000
The CX-3000 is the largest amplifier from the CX series by DAP Audio. With 2x 1,450 watts of power handling, the output of this unit is huge! This model and its four little siblings are all provided with a highly durable exterior and protection against short-circuiting, overheating, overloading, DC overvoltage and it features a (fixed) clip limiter and soft start. Also, this amplifier fits into a 19-inch rack as it is 2U high and 32.3cm deep, so that you can neatly secure it. This is also practical for fixed locations like discotheques and community centres. The CX-3000 has three different output modes: stereo, parallel and bridged. It is cooled via a fan, which adjusts its speed to the power on which the amplifier is operating (speed regulated), so that the sound of the fan is never louder that the unit itself.
Resetting and daisy chaining
A unique thing about the CX-3000 is that you can daisy chain it to other amplifiers from the CX series by DAP via XLR cables. This means that you can amplify different types of speakers: think of a combination of active speakers with a subwoofer, instead of a few full-range speakers. Furthermore, DAP have provided this amplifier with a reset button at the rear, so that you can easily stop the amplifier's operations if things go wrong.
DAP's CX series
Despite its impressive power, this CX-3000 is also attractively priced! Buying it won't break the bank, even though you are enjoying great durability and power handling!
