At first sight, this Presonus Sceptre S8 CoActual active studio monitor looks unlike any studio monitor you've ever seen. While common monitors have a separate woofer and tweeter, the Sceptre combines both so the audio is emitted from a central point. This technology has been around for some time now, but until recently, it was extremely expensive. Presonus have managed to create an affordable studio monitor with this technology that's ideal for mixing. The story of the single audio source

This monitor enables you to detect mixing errors that you probably wouldn't even hear from a conventional monitor. When audio comes from two directions (the tweeter and the woofer), this creates an acoustic differentiation when you reposition yourself, and sometimes the crossover between these two elements is even audible. The Sceptre doesn't experience any of these issues and produces audio that is as pure as the source itself.
