The Presonus R 65: Air Motion Transformer (AMT)

The 6.8 squere-inch AMT tweeter has been made from a special ultralight material with an inlaid aluminium circuit that functions as the voice coil. The folded, concertina-style construction of the tweeter reacts like a bellow, literally launching sound into space, resulting in a far broader projection than more traditional dome tweeters. Since the system is also far more efficient, it boasts an extremely fast transient response, especially in the ultra-high frequencies, which is exactly why this monitor is able to reveal the space within the mix.

Transparent Sound

Presonus have teamed the high-performance tweeter up with a matching 6.5 inch woofer. Made from Kevlar, this woofer also boasts an incredibly fast audio response alongside balanced audio dispersion across the entire frequency spectrum. Driving it all is a powerful integrated digital amplifier with a maximum output of 150 Watts, and around the back, all of the necessary controls are provided for fine-tuning your monitor to match your mixing space, alongside a balanced XR and 6.35mm jack output and unbalanced RCA ports for connecting the monitor to an audio-interface or mixer.
