For anyone who loves a decent volume and a solid bass response, Mackie offers the MR8mk3. As the largest model from the MR mk3 series of reference monitors, it's equipped with an 8-inch woofer for powerful, tight bass tones, but still has a modest cabinet. Smaller monitors can sometimes sound distorted or tire your ears, but you won't have to worry about that with the formidable MR8mk3. Even in larger studios, this active Mackie monitor holds its own.

MR8mk3 waveguide

With regards to sound characteristics, the housing and placement of a reference monitor are of vital importance. Mackie has given the MR8mk3 a redesigned waveguide, which smoothly and transparently disperses your high frequencies. The trebles are reproduced by a silk 1-inch tweeter, while the bass tones from the speaker's 8-inch woofer get a healthy additional boost from a rear-mounted, tuned bass port.

Tone control

As no two rooms have the exact same acoustics, the MR8mk3 is equipped with HF and LF controls, which enable you to really make the most of your (home) studio. They allow you to weaken or boost the high and low end of the frequency range, so the monitor produces a balanced sound, regardless of its surroundings, allowing you to enjoy an optimal reference tone for your mixes. The MR8mk3's cabinet is made of sturdy MDF and finished with black vinyl. It has been built to withstand considerable volumes, so you don't have to worry about annoying resonance or your woofer coming undone.
