General
The M-Audio BX8 Carbon is a redesigned version of the popular BX8 monitor. The BX8 Carbon edition features a silver-coloured waveguide and is ready for some serious music production, mixing and project studio applications. Equipped with an 8-inch woofer, the monitor is able to effortlessly reproduce solid bass tones, so a separate subwoofer is not a prerequisite. The BX8 Carbon is powered by a 130-watt amplifier module that drives the woofer and tweeter separately with 70 and 60 watts respectively.
M-Audio BX8 Carbon: bi-amping and waveguide
Thanks to the bi-amp technology of the BX8, the woofer and the tweeter are individually powered, resulting in a detailed audio image. An impressive 130 watts of power ensure a wide dynamic range, providing you with a natural, full-bodied sound and with flexible mixing and listening options. The silver-coloured waveguide gives the monitor a fresh-looking appearance, but is not merely there for good looks. It directs the dispersion of high frequencies, reducing distortion between woofer and tweeter to a minimum and ensuring that the sound of the monitor reaches your ears without audible timing differences.
Acoustic Space Control
Placement of a studio monitor is of vital importance if you want to create the right stereo image. To that end, the BX8 Carbon is equipped with Acoustic Space Control functionality. In combination with an LED indicator, Acoustic Space Control helps you determine the perfect position for your monitor, enabling you to enjoy the full potential of the BX8 Carbon and ensuring a well-balanced stereo image. With the BX8 Carbon, M-Audio has built on the success of the previous BX8 and added both visual and technological improvements. This rugged monitor can handle any mix!
