General
The Abbey is a professional 3-way monitor by Avantone Pro, the company that brought us the MixCubes. Its rugged housing contains a ribbon tweeter, a woofer and two 6.5-inch subwoofers directed sideways. The ribbon tweeter is the custom Avantone Air Motion Transformer, which offers crystal-clear high frequencies of up to 35 kHz. It treats your ears to a linear response, so you won't get tired of listening to your own mix! Thanks to the subwoofer, extensive bass reproductions are made possible (the woofers start their work around 35 Hz), so that the Abbey can also be used for film applications or EDM.
Avantone Pro Abbey: 400W tri-amp
This butterscotch yellow monitor features an impressive amplifier that has a triple output, sending 200 watts towards the subwoofers. Furthermore, the midrange driver and ribbon tweeter each receive 100 watts. A total power of 400 watts ensures that the Abbey will never be out of its depth, not even in highly professional studios or with heavier music styles with higher dynamic peaks or meaty basses. It's not all about volume, however, with great power come great dynamic changes, for a natural frequency response. The Linkwitz-Riley crossovers ensure an excellent frequency distribution over the different drivers. This monitor set makes professional full-range audio available for every genre and in any studio.
