General

Thanks to its power and dispersion characteristics, the ADAM A8X is suitable for both near-field and mid-field monitoring. Boasting an outstanding price/quality ratio, the ADAM monitor is the ideal entry-level model for both applications. The A8X is equipped with an X-ART tweeter and a large 8.5-inch mid woofer - a combination that ensures an exceptionally deep yet tight bass response. You'll be able to fully enjoy the outstanding reproduction qualities of the tweeter, which works according to ADAM's proprietary X-ART principle.

Construction of the A8X's bass reflex housing

Like the other AX models, the A8X features slanted upper corners that reduce edge diffraction. The large, double bass reflex ports you'll find on the front of the monitor have been specifically designed to match the mid woofer's large voice coil.

Amp and monitor in a single housing

As the most powerful monitor from the AX series, the A8X packs quite a punch. A 50-watt A/B amplifier drives the tweeter, while a 150-watt PWM amplifier powers the mid woofer. On the back panel, you'll find a number of controls - a gain for high frequencies (+/-4 dB) and two shelf filters for high and low frequencies - as well as balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors, which enable you to use the A8X for virtually any application.

Excellent monitors, the audio quality is outstanding. For my purpose they performed even better than the adam a77x (which are also very good). No drawbacks from my side, a bit pricey but quality is top notch.

Na de supersnelle levering, eerst 10 uurtjes op een laag niveau ingedraaid.

Daarna gas op die lollie, wat een sound, echt vet.

Pluspunten:

Zeer mooi hoog
Vette bas (mits de verhouding achterop goed is ingesteld)
Afstelling is goed te doen, kost wel wat tijd
Zeer geschikt voor Electronic Dance Music

Minpunten:
Afwerking van de kast (aan de zijkanten) is wat goedkoop, beplakt met goedkoop plastic rommel, had voor de prijs wel wat netter gemogen, maar de sound is het belangrijkste.
De Midrange is iets minder, maar nog steeds goed genoeg

Conclusie:

Goede aankoop, supergeluid en weer perfect geleverd door BAX
