General
The Shure PSM 200 P2R hybrid bodypack receiver is the first of its kind that's able to function both wired and wirelessly, or even both at the same time. As such, you can use it for wireless in-ear monitors at one gig, but swap those for a wired product at locations where you're dealing with interference. The line output of the P2R runs via a mini jack connector, so you can use that to plug in your SCL in-ear monitors, for instance.
The P2R allows you to control the volume, and to select a frequency. A built-in headphone limiter ensures that your hearing isn't accidentally damaged (although caution is still advised when it comes to your ears, of course). The receiver's durable synthetic exterior houses an integrated cable management system, so all you have to do is plug in and play. Five LED indicators keep you informed of the P2R's internal workings; one tells you whether the receiver is turned on, one lights up when the battery is running low, and the other three tell you all you need to know about the RF reception, frequency and limiter respectively. Depending on the chosen volume level, the Shure receiver's battery lasts for about four hours if you use the P2R wirelessly, or even six if you opt for wired use. Wireless in-ear monitoring has never been this affordable!
