Gobo projectors are a well-known type of lighting based on a light source fitted with a glass or metal wheel in which little figures or patterns have been punched. Light is directed through one of these gobo wheels, which are always placed before the optics, resulting in a beautifully sharp projection of the selected gobo pattern. Most standard gobo projectors offer the possibility to swap out gobo wheels as desired and one or more usually come included with a gobo spot. Some professionals even have their gobos custom-made in order to project, for example, their logos.
