General
The freshest addition to the EX-400 Series, the ESP LTD EX-401 has been built for battle - especially since the upper and lower bout could easily have someone's eye out. Basically, this much-loved six-string has been upgraded by popular demand, so besides the brutal body shape that was first born in 1995, this metal-focussed model comes armed with the super-tight output of an ESP 81 bridge pickup as well as the warmer and more robust might of an EMG 60 neck pickup.
The ESP LTD EX-401 Black: Battle-Grade Aggression
Constructed for modern metal guitarists, the EX-401 also boasts the improved fret-reach of a set-through neck and the ultra-fast feel of a Thin-U-profile carve and rosewood fretboard loaded with twenty-four extra-jumbo frets - and as a sweet detail, the model number has even been inlaid at the twelfth fret. The foundation is just as solid, where the solid mahogany body keeps things thick and warm while supporting battle-grade sonic aggression and completes a professional, stage-ready shredder.
LTD Guitars by ESP
In 1975, Hisatake Shibuya opened his Electric Sound Products shop in Japan, where his reputation for churning out supreme-quality replacement parts grew so rapidly, that it wasn't long before he started hand-building his own guitars under the name ESP. In the 1980s, the brand shot to fame when ESP models made their way into the hands of massive metal bands, including Metallica. These days, ESP serves up a wide range of incredibly versatile instruments, from high-grade Custom Shop models to the affordable LTD series.
