The body is made of poplar and produces a well-balanced sound with a touch of warmth and creaminess. A light punch is present too thanks to the mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard.

Les Paul Special VE: comfort and sound

The Les Paul Special VE has a '60s-style SlimTaper D neck profile, a relatively flat 14-inch fretboard radius and 22 medium jumbo frets that all enhance its playing comfort. The sealed self-lubricating machine heads, tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece give it excellent tuning stability too. Two Epiphone Open Coil humbucker pickups are responsible for delivering the sound to your amplifier. There's a warm-sounding 650R at the neck and a slightly hotter 700T at the bridge. Combined with the 3-way pickup switch and the volume and tone potentiometers you have a wide variety of sounds at your disposal making this model suitable for genres like rock, among others.
