General

The Hagstrom Alvar is the smaller, more manageable, and just as handsome sibling of the Viking. This less-than-modest thinline semi-hollow bodied guitar boasts a tight, comfortable playing feel and majestic amplified sound shaped by a pair of double-coiled HJ50 pickups and a maple neck and body. This combination provides a potent foundation with an even vibration transfer across the body, and beautifully balanced overtones.

The Alvar: Power, Stability and Smooth Handling

Even before you touch the electronics, this Hagstrom semi-acoustic slices effortlessly through the mix. At first glance, this guitar is fitted with a standard-issue 3-way pickup selector switch and a dedicated set of volume and tone controls per pickup. But, hidden in the electronics section is Hagstrom's own RC-Circuit which can be used to curb the power this instrument is capable of when things need to be a touch calmer. Meanwhile, the set-in neck construction, H-Expander truss rod and T-O-M bridge provide excellent overall stability.
