A doumbek is a goblet drum that is very popular in the Middle-East and the rest of the Arabian world. The two most important sounds it produces are the deep 'dum' in the middle of the drum and the 'tak' at the edge.

Artisan Edition doumbek

Meinl's Artisan Edition doumbeks are produced in Egypt and feature mother-of-pearl mosaic inlays. The drum itself is made entirely of aluminium, and partly thanks to its considerable weight, it produces a beautiful rich tone.
