Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 including Sonarworks + headphone holder

Best headphones I ever got (got many) and price it's just extremely good. Super nice

Before obtaining the Beyerdynamic DT990 pro 250ohmws I did a lot of online research, my concerns with this model was the consensus on the CONS heavy bass, recessed midrange and exaggerated treble which can cause treble attack and fatigue on ears... Research came down to a choice of open back headphones namely this model and Phillips fidelio x2 or 2hl. I chose Dt990's and my choice for headphone DAC/amp was between Fiio K5 pros and Zen Dac. Ended up with Zen Dac. Result lovely sound, a lot of fun and more importantly I can play different genres of music. The Zen Dac is solidly built and the volume knob is a dream to use. Now most music sounds more tangible and I feel I am sitting in best seat infront of the stage. Even listening to old studio recordings of Chuck Berry's greatest hits can really show what the Dt990 can do with soundstage. And last but not least to date I have not had any treble attack or sibilance...

Simply couldnt ask for any better!!

Currently bleeding them in, all in all a nice smooth sound and very clear and non fatiguing....

I selected this headphone stand after good experience with other K&M products, namely keyboard and laptop stands. This is a very simple and very effective headphone stand. It is heavy enough not to fall over when putting the phones on or off. It is relatively attractive, nicely engineered and looks good next to my rig and keyboard. The size is perfect for my usage with Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro and Sennheiser HD650s. I particularly like the curved and smooth plastic surface which supports the headband of the headphones - this is a nice touch and much better and more gently supportive than a metal 'peg' style on some competitors' products. I would buy it again even if it was twice the price. Good delivery and service from Bax.

I am pairing these headphones with a Fiio E10K DAC/AMP. Previous headphones that I will compare to are the ATH-M40X.



Overall these headphones are great. Audio is crystal clear, you can pick up on so many more details, compared to cheaper headphones. With the AMP the bass is quite punchy. I have mostly listened to hip hop and piano/orchestra music and across those it has been splendid.



I have also played a few video games, the gun shots in Red Dead Redemption 2 sound incredible, I can't quite describe the difference compared to my previous headphones, but it is wonderful.



Almost forgot, but the comfort of these headphones is remarkable. Often times I feel like I am not wearing any at all. Incredibly well cushioned, the clamping force is enough to keep the headphones in place, but not to the point you feel your head being squeezed. The build quality seems amazing, and was one of the main reasons I chose these, as I had to super glue my M40X back together countless times.



I would highly recommend these headphones to anyone. This isn't the most technical review, just a guy who is starting to get into higher end audio, but these are truly great. Most comfortable pair of headphones I've worn so far, and the quality for the price seems great to me.

Such a waste of money. The overall design is ok. The metal is nicely finished. The bit that holds the headphones is just straight plastic rather then plastic with a thick rubber coating like on their other holders.



The flaw is the height which had most of my full size headphones resting on the wire too close to the connection jack. A couple of inches higher would have given me piece of mind that it wasn't going to put pressure on the jack in to the headphones, which over time wouldn't be good it.



Didn't bother returning just left outside for someone to take.



Spend the extra and get the premium table clamp one. That's far far better.

These headphones are amazing. i spend long hours during the night having to use headphones for composing music when the kids are in bed and these are the comfiest things iv ever had on my head. One MAJOR win for these headphones is a much lesser degree of fatigue on the ears as well as physical pressure on the face. The open back design clearly allows you to chat to the person in the room without taking them off, and Im quite convinced that since they are open back, the sound pressure levels (SPL's) are less, and i think this is what has helped me go do a nights work and not feel like s**t afterwards with dodgy ears and a sore jaw. Ill say it again, these are by far the comfiest things iv ever listened to music on and cant recommend them highly enough.

one thing though, id recommend using a headphone amp or similair for these. I use the ART4 headphone amp and i usually have the volume set to around 4 and thats a good volume. plug them into your phone however and they will be a little quiet. still good but youll find youll have the volume high
